Financial assets held by households continued to grow in 2024, reports the Bundesbank in its Wealth in Germany study. But uneven distribution, and falling real returns for some, remain a challenge.

Inequality in industrialised countries is lower than is often claimed. And a certain degree of it is actually necessary for more growth, and prosperity for all.
